Residents are invited to shred any personal paper documents free of charge (limit 6 legal boxes per vehicle, per day).The Town will be accepting gently used and working clothes, stuffed animals, electronics, toys, sporting equipment, shoes, books, small area rugs, bikes, scooters, luggage, picture frames, table lamps, bolts of fabric, silverware, glassware, dishes, and cosmetics. Each resident will receive a receipt for their donation for income tax purposes.S.T.O.P. events, sponsored by the Town of North Hempstead, are for Town of North Hempstead residents only (no commercial vehicles allowed). Participants must show a driver’s license or other valid proof of residency. For safety reasons, residents must remain in their cars while event staff remove items to be discarded. Please leave your pets at home so event staff can safely and easily remove items from your car.
